STAR FIGHTERS DOB
On this day, fellow devs and I teamed up with the prospect to create an engaging hyper casual mobile game. The goal is keep dev time minimal and costs down all whilst giving it 100%.
Elevator pitch: "Swipe, destroy and dominate territory though unclaimed lands"

AERIAL
Our first Star Fighter is born! We're naiming it "Aerial". Art Direction is a blend of modern technology powered by turbine engines with a touch of technology on top.
To keep things performant, we've gone down the pathway of unlit pallet textures. The idea later on will be allowing players to choose from a set of custom colours or patterns through premium unlocks.

TITAN
Another Star Fighter off the press, called "Titan". Design inspiration for this one was a 1940's bomber plane, with the twist of gelling turbine engines instead of propellers.

SCREAMER
Our third Star Fighter in the family is called "Screamer". Design inspiration for this one was again in the WWII dog fightign era, whist introducing massive turbine engines for speed, hense the name.

SPITFIRE
Keeping with the design inspiration from WWII, we've introduced the player Star Fighter, Spitfire. Whilst the other fighters will be seen in-game attacking your territory, they will later become availble to the player through unlocks and premium currency.

SPLASH SCREEN
Now that we have our 'fighters' established, it was time to bring the vison to life with splash art for Star Fighters. This entry is just a snipit of the final piece.

APP ICON
With the splash screen in a good spot, it only made sense to begin work on the app icon for Apple and Google Play.

SATELLITE SCALER
It may not look that powerful, but this territory satellite will become your best friend in claiming territory much faster than opponents. It orbits around maps and when flown over, will begin building a radius of your territory right on the spot. Imagine that happening over the top of enemy territory. See ya, wouldn't want to be ya!

FIRST PLAYABLE
For the first time in Star Fighters infancy, we engeneered up our first playable through Webex! By no means was is perfect, but we had enemies on screen, and we were building territory like no ones business! This was moment we knew we had what it took to forge forward.

CONSTELLATION MAP
Now that we had a plable space, it was time to define it and give the player a minimap to understand their locaiton & objective. Part of our lore is that the player traverses through space unlocking new constellations along the way. The first constellation the player is presented with is a bear. In order to make sense ouf of the minimap, we nominated the player with the black triangle icon, making all the other black dots enemies builidng territory.

MACHINE GUNS
Whilst engineers were coding away at funcitonality, our tech artist was busy perfecting our first projectile weapon, the machine gun. Machine guns come stock on every star fighter and adds a new meaning to "claiming" territory. Since players needed to understand how much sheild was remaining, engeeners put in a place holder radial health system seen in front of your star fighter. That cute little figher trailing behind you is our trophie system. These show up everytime you take out an enemy and can stack up quickly if you are a savy player.

MISSILES
We've added a new weapon pick up, missiles! Prepare to launch a barage of missile attacks on the enemies. Each weapon pick up will only last a short period of time, so make the most of it and hunt down those peseky enimes trying to take over territory. But don't worry, you will spot these periodic pickup throughout each game session so no fear on running out.

CUSTOMISE
UI and code have been busy putting together our Fighter customise screen. We will soft launch with 8 custome skins, 8 Rare skins and 3 Epic skins. Skin can be earning through in-game rewards or purchsed through our in-app store. Skins will be carried over to each Fighter you own; which currently gives a player 76 options to choose from! My favourite part of this screen is the ability to spin your fighter around so you can view your skin in all its glory.

IN-APP STORE
We now have a first pass look at how our in-app store is shaping up. Items like gems, coins and chest rewards can be purchesed to speed up game progression. How good is that!

PULSE LASERS
We've added a thrid weapon type to juice up Star Fighters; Pulse Lasers. These bad boys are the strongest weapon to date. Shots are limited so don't waste them unless your ready to deal some damage to your enemies.

EPIC SKINS
Who doesn't love customising their gaming experience with fun skins? Here we have a selection of skins that once purchsed, will be avalible to all owned fighters: Synthwave wrap, Graffiti, Camouflage.

ENGINEERING
We spent quite a bit of time polishing, adjusting and balancing Star Fighters till it felt good, like a game should. We also used this time smash quite a few pesky bugs lingering around from protoype days.

NEW FIGHTERS ARRIVE
Twin and Moth DOB! Each of our 6 fighters have unique traits. With Twin, its: Power and Weapons while Moth is all about the speed to evade gun fire from enemy threat.
